Wei En is a disputes lawyer at AM Legal LLC, focusing on civil litigation and dispute resolution. He acts for a diverse clientele including corporate entities, individuals and SMEs across a broad range of contentious matters in the Singapore courts.
Prior to his admission to the Singapore Bar, Wei En read law at the University of Exeter and obtained his LL.M from the University of Western Australia, where he developed a strong grounding in commercial law and alterative dispute resolution. He brings a methodical and practical approach to dispute resolution, offering clients sound strategic advice at all stages of proceedings, from pre-litigation to trial and appeal.
- Acted for the plaintiff in HC/S 214/2021, a management corporation of a private residential development, in respect of a claim in negligence against the contractors who supplied and maintained an automated car park system.
- Acted for the defendant and plaintiff in counterclaim in a probate dispute in the Family Justice Courts involving multiple wills executed by the deceased between 1985 and 2015. Successfully defended the validity of the deceased’s latest 2015 will which was propounded by the defendant.
- Acted for the claimant in HC/OA 346/2025, which was an administration action involving issues of interpretation of the deceased’s will and the distribution of the assets of the estate to different classes of beneficiaries.
- Acted for the claimant in HC/OA 653/2024, which was an urgent application to the Court for injunctions to restrain a Chinese shipyard from calling on a performance guarantee from a local bank, and to restrain the bank from making payment thereunder.
- Acted for the Defendant in HC/OC 179/2024, a Singapore subsidiary of a multinational group of companies, in respect of a claim which involved raised issues of contractual liability and mistake.
